Pre Face Leather
« on: 06 October 2008, 20:11:28 »

Do pre facelift leathers fit into a facelift?
Also i think there electric, so how do i wire these in? Will the loom already be in the car, its a 2000 sport with cloth seats but they have some kind of electric adjustment in 1 direction so i guess some kind of loom will be there already. Also what about the seat heaters, will the loom be there for them also?

If they are pre minifacelift, no good to you (no side airbags, and different pretensioners).  Insurance companies will take a very dim view of disabling vital safety systems, enough to invalidate insurance.

Minifacelft should be OK, can't remember if you have to swap runners.

Wiring.  The full memory wiring wiring won't exist (not that you have the mirrors anyway).  12v is present at seat base (for height adjustment), this is enough to get seat moving, and seat memory. You will have to wire yourself, as plugs are different.

And watch the airbag and pretensioner - if these fire whilst you are fitting, there will be a big brown stain to clean off as well...
