Engine cut out under braking
« on: 06 October 2008, 21:36:42 »

Hello, i've been reading this i bought the miggy and now i need your help.  I was travelling south and as i braked going down hill the car cut out.  After a few minutes it started again but a mile or so down the road it cut out again and this was also under braking.  I carried out the brake pedal and accelerator check and got the fault codes 10 4 3 10 and then 10 3 3 5.  Has anyone got any suggestions as having read what they mean i'm none the wiser.  The car is an 02 reg 2.6 automatic.

0335 is crank sensor failing so should be replaced....which will cause the engine to cut out as you have just found

0430 is related to the pre-cats getting tired and is nothing to worry about.

As i suspected  you do have all the answers.  I will take a look tomorrow and see what parts i need and then try and have a go myself as it looks not too bad.
