Hi all, when my miggy elite warms up I get a slight burning rubber type smell,I have got some engine oil leak, prob cam cover seals, would oil on a hot engine smell like burning rubber or might it be a belt problem.belts look in good condition were done 20k ago and they seem to be tight enough.Only occurs when engine warmed up.Soz to bother with trivial question but there is so much knowledge on here .Thanks

burnt oil certainly does honk.   I would get your nose in there to try and  narrow it down as to where it is coming from.   You make be able to see smoke too - most likely coming off manifold area

Mine too.
Shining a torch or better a laser pointer down past the exhaust manifolds will show up the smoke

Like already said burning oil does stink, but not like burning rubber...

You say the belts look fine so I assume you mean the Aux Belt as you cant see the cambelt unless you strip the cover off... you have proof the cambelt was done 20,000 miles ago is that what you mean mate? :y

I had similar rubber-like smell, noticeable only right after driving and the smell went away within less than a minute. It was the aux belt tensioner / aux belt itself, the tensioner was worn and made some noise, changed that and belt and no smell afterwards.
