replacing he power steeringpump
« on: 27 October 2008, 13:32:22 »

has anyone changed a power steering pump on a 2.5 v6?
how difficult is it to do?

any special tools required and what sort of time will it take ?

I looked at the haynes manual but its as much useas a sun roof on a submarine.

Access to the pump requires removal of all the 'bagpipes' at the front of the engine. It's not the easiest of of things to get to but better than replacing a DIS pack. ;)
You need Torx sockets for the pump mounting bolts, and that's it for special tools.
It's amazing how far the contents of the hose from the reservoir to the pump can spread over your drive though.  ;D  ;D

A couple of hours will easily see it changed.
