Facelift MV6 rear bumper
« on: 02 November 2008, 14:29:02 »

After a slight... lamppost... incident... I need to get my back bumper either repaired or replaced.

First call is going to be the bodyshop (they repaired my mum's 307 after someone drove along the side of it, the work was absolutely flawless, even to my perfectionist eye. Colour match, panel fit, everything.) - see if it can be repaired, and if so, how much.

If I do need a new bumper (or if it works out cheaper), I know the MV6 ones are different to regular - is it the same as the Elite rear or not? I know there's no f/l breaking MV6s at the moment, here or Ebay...

I don't think the rear bumpers are different. If they are different it would only be to accomodate the twin pipes, so the V6 Elites (or any for that matter that has twin pipes) would be the same.

The only place the bumpers are different AFAIK is at the front lower.

EDIT: Just as a foot-note, the facelift rear bumper is actually just the pre-facelift Irmscher rear bumper.

Don't think it is, there are some slight differences.

Ok, the prefacelift Irmscher bumper cuts in slightly more (look how much tyre shows on prefacelift compared to the facelift) then the lower valance kicks out whereas the facelift carries on cutting in.

Also if you look where the knock out is for the towing hook you'll see that the facelift bumper is much deeper as well as having two creases that follow the boot lines across the top.

And just to back up that they are not the same, pictures below same car with both types of bumper fitted, you can see the diffrent exhaust cut out
