ruff idle then cuts outs, help please
« on: 02 November 2008, 16:18:53 »

This may be a bit long winded but heres what happened.
1 abs tc lights have been coming on and off for a couple of weeks so decided to remove the ecu today ready for repair.
2 last night car started but was very running ruff on the way to the shops about a mile away but was fine on the way back. It would not go above 20 mph and was very ruff on idle.
3 removed abs ecu today and then tried to move the car. it started but the just died after shaking it's self to bits.it just does this now every time i try to start it.
done the pedal trick and this is what i got
10-1-7-3
10-1-7-9
10-6-3-8
2-1-10-7
10-5-10-7
10-5-6-7
1-7-4
thats how the lights flashed not to sure how to interpreted them
any help will be greatly appreciated  thanks paul

I don't know the codes off the top of my head but I suspect they're reporting random missfires...

Are the coil packs/plugs ok? Any oil in plug wells? Any major air leaks?

have a look at link below. But i would recommend double tripple checking the codes are correct before you dive in. Its easy to miss count as you may have noticed.

According to a couple of google searches your fault codes are...

u2108 CAN-Bus no Communication with ABS/TC
p1612 Immobiliser signal error
P0500 Vehicle Speed Sensor Circuit

First one points to your ABS ecu which you know about.
I reckon changing your crank sensor will sort the rest.

Look here http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1189022687 Seems like you have ABS/TC issues and immobiliser non-recognition

Does the EML flash when you try to start the car?

if the ignition was turned on with the abs ecu removed then that would explane the any codes related to it, and i dont believe that would stop the car starting.
The immobiliser seems to be the relevent issue. This is said to cause a dash light to flash when trying to start, hence the question above. Hth.
