Later model 2.0ltrs don`t have the 12 start sequence. If any codes are stored the light will start flashing them out immediately. Try again and try to note the sequences. Might be handy to have pen and paper :y

oh from what i noted just kept flashing constanst with no breaks in between car wont start now either  :'(

Hopefully somebody will be along soon to clarify but IIRC a continuous flashing points to the immobiliser stuffed. :'(

just when my bro in law tried take key out it come apart little plastic thing fell out  it got thailand wrote on it  just not sure how it go back in the key could that be part case wont start now?

The little chip in the key is indeed required and without it the car wont start...

right ive got it starting again

and managed get some codes

10,3,3,4,10,4,10,10,10,9,6,9,3

then goes back to 10,3,3,4 anyone help

10 is actually 0...would have thought the codes should be 19 etc on an R reg and each code is repeated 3 times before moving onto the next...

well got car started ect think its the exzausht it blowing it sounds lounder plus there rattle  carnt be back box or middlebox cause there brand new so maybe manfoild sumthing gone  now my keys are stuck in igntion too doh :'(
