How would one know if there was a hole in the manifold i can hear a ticking noise when i accelerate sounds like its exhaust related

Get someone to block the tail pipe with a rag or whatever while you listen for where the gas escapes in the engine bay, and you rev it with the throttle body... Maybe? Could be the gaskit though.
