Hi Shagma, I don't really know, the garage did it, whatever they changed it was 130quid for the part, it made no difference so they took it back off and re-fitted the old one.
Car is at vauxhall now, hopefully they will find the problem. I have never ever had to pay somebody to fix my own car, modern cars  are just a pain in the arse with all these electrical gubbins under the bonnet. I'm an 'old school' mechanic, these modern motors just baffle me!

ok. But you problem was lack of power right?
I have that problem, and I am starting to suspect the timing...
But I will take it to a local garage to get a proper diagnostic, hopefully they will figure it out, this other locale garage told me it was EGR, but I dont feel confident...
There were some speaking of 0V on the throttle valve potentimeter... I checked a few spots today with my voltmeter. On the MAF connection and the throttle assembly. I certenly got responses, but when I dont have a clue what the exact value should be, I feel like a blind man in a big room.

Yeah mate, severe lack of power, stumbling and stuttering, very hard to make any progress at all. Put fooot on acccelerator and the car just dies. I have been advised to ignore the fault codes that the garages' machine spewed out because just one fault on a sensor can confuse the ecu and all the onther sensors will read incorrectly. Dunno if this is true or not but Mr Vauxhall with his tech 2 should be able to sort it. If not then I will scrap the bloody thing, I am totally sick of it.
Sorry to hear you're having trouble too mate, I know exactly how you feel. I reckon you should get it to a vauxhall garage with the proper diagnostic equipment, or I believe a couple of guys on here have the gear and could help?
I should find out what's wrong with mine by Monday or Tuesday and will post the results on here to see if it's any help to you or anybody else who is having similar problems.

Ok, thanks, looking forward to hear the results, hopefully not to bad for you!
Things has been pretty bad for me with this car. Bought it for about 4000 pound, I have spent 2000 i repairs so far, and there is still a broken stud on the exhaust manifold, and the car feels wors then my 1.4 90hp civic with regards to power. Not to mention all the evenings and weekends I have spent working under the bonnet. Just to top it of the tech2 device I purchased is a disfunctional, and the seller is a real jerk. Enough complaints for tonight, time to hit the sack! ;)
