My HBV vac pipe has come off, how do i get it re-connected to the solenoid i'm assuming it is directly behind the rubber grommit thing where the heater matrix pipes go or is it

main be careful though as the pass airbag lives above the glovebox

Great I asume that the pipe has a T-piece on the end where it comes out of the bulkhead as i only have a piece about 12" long from the HBV....

Why do i get the feeling this is going to be one of those little jobs that turn into a nightmare!!!

I'm not quite clear about your problem BUT, in the engine compartment the HBV vac pipe goes into the bulkhead grommet and JOINS the internal vac pipes at the grommet.  In other words the grommet also acts to join vac pipes.  Therefore if you have 12 inches of vac pipe in the engine bay, re -inset it in the grommet - use a torch - between the two heater pipes on the right

check you have vac by selecting full chill and seeing if you have vacuum on the pipe

Ah, now that makes sense   :)Will have a closer look in daylight.

Is quite strange though because the heater/CC all works as it should with this pipe disconnected

yep

vac on meand that the bypass valve is in bypass mode.  vac off means the heater matrix is always hot.  because of the ambient temperature, you'll probably not be selecting full chill and noticing luke warm air coming in.  wait until the summer and you'll notice that your aircon won't do the full freeze thing!

Yep, i have found the small hole in the bulkhead grommit and connected it back up so all should be well, my front actuator on the mutiram is also working again so many thanks for your help again
