Quick question really, want to change omegas headlight bulbs, its a 1998 R plate omega with projector headlights non HID.

What type does it use?

H7 Mainbeam on projectors

God im gonna sound like such a n00b but i havent had to really replace lights before....

Is the headlight the "driving lamp" and "mainbeam" the one we use to "flash" with...e.g. highbeam etc

e.g. when i turn the lights onto the max for night driving without pushing the indicator stick for mainbeam, which bulb is the main light?

yes

when you turn on lights, first click is sidelights, next click is headlights. to put on mainbeam you push indicator stalk forward

headlight (H1) is the outer one
mainbeam (H7) is the one nearer the grille

there is a plastic trim covering access to the back of lamps and be warned you need small hands to get in between battery and almp to change nearside bulb

Im 5'6" and of a small build, yes i look out of place in my omega..
