rear passenger door strip removal help
« on: 07 January 2009, 10:45:27 »

the door strip on the rear passenger door needs to come off as i have a replacement, how do i remove the strip, i only have a strip from a scrap yard as a replacement so if there is a backing plate that allows it to be attached to the car then i need to keep this on, there is a metal strip behind the plastic on the replacement but it looks like this is needed to affix to the car
how are these strips removed without damaging the plate that is affixed to the door

They're glued on with a double sided sticky tape and a locating clip/plug at either end. The body shop that did some paint on mine used a cheese wire to remove them. They're expensive new if you get them from Vx!
