Air recirculation
« on: 09 January 2009, 13:54:07 »

Hi!

I use the air recirculation button but I can feel the smell of outside exhaust gases....
It's an Y reg facelift Omega.
Could you help me somebody where is the outside/inside air catch?
How can I fix it?

Don't you have an active carbon filter, have you tried replacing that?

Passenger side under the bonnet, near the bulkhead. Under a little plastic flap. It should be the grey one, not the cheaper white one.

Passenger side = Left as you are sat in the car! (Just noticed where you are)

Yes.  Two types, one a plain filter, the other is carbon assisted, as it were, to remove the noxious elements....

if your getting fumes in the car, is the filter present/fitted correctly/dry with no water in a blocked scuttle drain, you may have an exhaust manifold leak or blown cam cover gaskits.
