auto box having a tantrum
« on: 14 January 2009, 14:15:55 »

Right, for the last week or so I've jumped in the car and pressed the brake pedal to select drive and it won't move. normally turning off/on the engine cures this but not today. Tried for the last 10mins but it will not budge. When I lift the release thing on the gear knob I can hear a clicking from the fuse panel under the steering wheel. Any ideas what has hapened? thanks

Look up under brake pedal you will see a switch that is activated when pedal pressed. It works the brake lights and also releases the gearlever interlock. Click on this link, go to page 139 and you can see where the interlock microswitch is located under gear lever gaiter.
