« on: 15 January 2009, 00:03:51 »

Took the omega in for its mot, it passed .... just.!
The tester had 3 attempts at the co2 emissions before he managed to get it through, thank god he loves omegas!
Its smoking pretty badly and the fumes smell funny.
Any ideas would be great thanks.

if its an eggy smell then could be the cats (causing the smell), best thing to do b4 any mot is to drive it like you stole it, burns off any crud and gets everything up to temp.

is the car consuming any water or oil? the only chemicals that could get into the exhaust are oil, or the antifeeze from the cooling sytem, which you know how that gets there..

other thing is some brands of exhaust can smell funny, whatever the wool is made of can smell nasty.
