Rev counter wiring for 2.2
« on: 17 January 2009, 18:02:54 »

Hello everyone I am new, and in difficulty.
I am converting my 52 plate 2.2 to LPG .
Its taken a while, but its all in place bar the last bit of Connecting. I bought a multimeter , but still can not find a wire that will give a pulse , ie Coil, Tacho, anything around the Top of the Engine where I can solder a wire in.

The programe in the Laptop has a Rev counter image and one wire has to send a pulse to it so that it reads Engine revs .

This engine has a thick plastic block fitted over the plugs , on the end is the loom . does anyone know about all the colours and which one to connect to ?

Regards
Adrian

You need the feed to the rev counter from the ECU. Available on connector X84 pin 62. X84 is the connector on the engine ECU that connects to the body loom rather than the loom that runs around the engine.
