If I get a spare second hand fob, obviously it will have to be reprogrammed but what about the key blade? Surely they're not all the same :-/

Blade will have to be cut. Transponder in the horseshoe will also need programming

the chances of being able to recut a used key are slim, i think it'd unlock your door but be very baggy in the lock.
i can send you an uncut horseshoe type for 10 pounds- the postage is included at that :P
