Hello to all on the forum. Just got my 52 plate 2.2 petrol Omega auto. Having a few teething probs so hope you can help be out with a little advice please.Not having mush success with the search function though.

Firstly when I try and close the drivers side rear window on auto, its goes up so far , about three quarters the way up , then goes back down again. The only way I can get it to close completely is by staggering it up bit by bit, any ideas. Sometimes though it will work fine on its own so its intermittent but mainly faulty.

Also the heated rear window , although the dash light comes on and the button makes the right "relay" noise when switched on the actual window doesnt clear so it looks like its not getting warm. Are there any checks or things you can suggest I do to sort it out.

Lastly the drivers heated seat not getting warm although again the dash light comes on, passengers side works fine.

I was just wondering if these faults were common and there were obvious things to do in trying to remedy the faults.

I'll provide some help, althought others more experienced than I will be along shortly, I'm sure...

The window problem is not uncommon - the window has an 'auto retract' function which is supposed to automatically retract the window if it detects a blockage (like a childs arm for example). In your instance, the window is merely stiff, and the increased effort required to close it is triggering the auto retract function. Try lubricating the runners in which the window sits - you'll probably need to remove the rear door card to do so.

The heated rear window may well have a broken connection to it - i'd suggest trying to locate the connections to it and using a multimeter to measure the resistance across the elements - very high resistance or 'open ccircuit' would indicate that a connection is broken somewhere.

The drivers heated seat is probably the heating mat - if you have cloth seats it can be replaced - leather seats can have the pad replaced (or add another one), but it's usually easier to replace the seat (I think!)

i had exactly the same issue with my rear windows when i got the car. I used silicon spray, as thats what i had available, but ptfe (i think) would be better as its a dry lube and probably will not leave so much residue on the glass. But just spray in the rubber groove, i never bothered taking the door card off. It been fine for 9 months now. :-)

No experience with the other 2 issues but have seen talk on here of carroded contacts at the screen. Hth

I had the same problem with the window.Took the door card off and I just put grease on everything that moved.

My drivers heated seat isn't working either and can't be bothered fixing it

Thanks for the help, I will have a look at lubricating the window runners etc, maybe an auto electrician for the heated rear window though
