Nackered V6 Engine?

Just changed my ignition coil plugs and leads

anyway all 6x of my plugs are black is my engine nearing the end of its life?

its a 3.0 Later type 98 on V6 engine with 123k had a full rebuild at 97k as the belt snapped killing 1 piston and conrod

it might just not be burning the petrol fully so charcoaling the plugs a bit

possibly yeah, im not sure though so you'd be better askin or looking in the back of the haynes manual as it gives descriptions and stuff for how the plugs look :y

I presume you had a misfire to change them all in the first place?

Might just be the misfire causing it and could be fine now you have changed it all assuming the problems gone away??

aye it missfired on full beanz and when towing heavy trailers

also missfired on tickover when hot

Fear not, the plugs will foul quite quickly if used for a short journey or even after moving the car to do work on it!

Ive never seen a spark plug yet that looks like the 'Normal' ones in the haynes books! There all usually a fair bit more black! I would only be worried if its covered in oil tbh!
