Bad lifter

Not all my lifters have gone quiet after bleeding. Think new ones might be in the pipline :'(

Anyhow, I can't buy them ATM and was wondering would they do any damage to the engine if left for a while?

In short no.....you might find they quieten donw over the first 100 or so miles anyway (if they were cleaned during the re-build)

Well 230 miles later still sounds like a diesel. the old man reckons to leave it for 1000 miles when I change the oil, is it ok leaving them that long??

OK, this seems to be a similar problem to my V6, which I am going to investigate.
Is this a common problem to still have the lifter noise after so many miles...??
