Airbag problem
« on: 16 February 2009, 10:30:47 »

After relacing all instrument lights that were missing(removed) i now have the airbag light on constantly. This is to go with the removed EMS bulb which showed up several faults.I managed to clean the contacts on the cam sensor and the rev problem was resolved.

So now i have an airbag light on constantly.Any advice here lads?

Just done another paperclip test and got the following:

0335
0100
0340

Airbag light - if it was missing, it was to hide a fault.  Need airbag codes read, and reset if all historic.

0335 - crank sensor
0340 - cam sensor.

Cleaning them won't help.  Hope they don't both decide to fail completely at the same time...

0335 Engine not running
1690 Faulty Lamp
0100 MAF
0340 Cam Sensor
0351 Coil Pack - 1 & 4

Suggest check plugs - expect full of oil, or worn out
Definately Cam sensor

Another member posted these codes and the top one varies slightly from your result.
Before i cleaned the contacts on the cam sensor, the EMS light would stay on while motor running, and car would not rev above 4500rpm.Since cleaning, the EMS light goes out when car is started and drives fine.

Its a hall effect sensor - cleaning won't do jack.  Maybe the unplugging/moving/messing with it has temporarily helped.

0335 is crank sensor, not engine not running.
