oil leak in upper part of engine
« on: 27 February 2009, 09:26:03 »

Hi,

I have one more oil leak.

It is not leaking a lot, just few drops under car overnight, a bit more after driving longer on high speeds (150+kmh)

It is coming up somewhere from upper part of passanger part of the engine (note that it is LHD car). There is oil on the alternator, on exhaust mainflod and all over the place...

Where to look?

Camcover gasket - been replaced 15000km ago...but it hasn't been done correctly first time...or second (oil was leaking al over the place)...it was installed correctly on 3th attempt...but,maybe it is still leaking a bit?

Camshaft gaskets - those half-moon gaskets...not changed when camcover gaskets were done.

anything else?

Were the breathers cleaned fully?

yes, forgot to mention.

I've cleaned the breathers. They were stone-blocked, had to cut them in two parts, and use a screwdriver and loads of carb-cleaner to clean it up.

but the breather box in the back of the engine wasn't cleaned, can't reach it >:(

Where the ports on it cleaned (i.e. the two holes).

If not, there is your problem  :y
