THANKS TO MARK DTM CALIB
« on: 09 March 2009, 19:14:12 »

GOT TO SHOUT THIS FROM THE ROOF TOPS

This guy knows his stuff.  Many thanks to all you other guys, but Mark is patient and just like having your personal mechanic sitting on your shoulder.

His posts, explanations, easy to follow guidlines, diagrams and photographs.  PLUS MUCH MUCH MORE are a credit to him.

BIG THANKS.

Fixed my spare vacuum pipe. Wasn't spare, needed connecting. As a result of what Mark told me. Got into the engine bay, my big end in the air and presto, found prob and gotcha. :)

Now buzzing, felt confident and decided to do oil change.
Like to add, bought miggy 31.01.09 to tow caravan. Yep sorry, caravanner.

Old oil drained (over 6 litres came out - don't think it should have been that much).  Now filter.  However, the whole canister unscrewed from the side of the block. Don't think this should have happened :(
It would appear that previous oil changer over torqued the cap of the cannister.  Can't get it off.   Had to put it all back together, put new oil in 'cos wife won't allow to have car on ramps. Now got nice new oil more than leaking from where the canister meets the side of the block.

Can I get away with getting a normal looking oil filter (ie. all in one) or have I got to source another cannister. Anyone got one I can buy? :P ::)
