Cam belt kit change how much??

Hi all :)

Picked up my 2001 3.0 elite yesterday fantastic car much better than my rover 75 quick question/advice please. Its done just under 82,000 miles i know from reading thru the forum that the belt kit should be done at 40,000 so its due up. Any idea what is a fair price to pay for the whole kit to be done and water pump, i,m in lincoln so have main vauxhall dealer to hand just wondered if anyone in lincolnshire knows of a good independent dealer or should i stick with main dealer and as i said whats fair price for the work.

Dealer will be expensive - believe cam belt kit retail is around £150!  A genuine Vx kit can be had off the net for around £70 + VAT.  Water pump on Trade Club card is aroung £23.

Buy the DVD off here (look in the shop), beg, borrow or buy a second hand cam lock kit  and do it yorself!

Failing that a local OOFer may be prepared to do it for you for beer tokens :y

I am coming down London way tomorrow, I could do it for you far cheaper than any Vauxhall Dealer.

Well good news i rang the main dealer who had serviced the car from new march 01 last service jan 08. It had full kit and water pump changed in 04 on 37k and had full kit no pump done last jan at 73k so even more of a bargain for me  :y  just want to say ta to all for the advice specially loo knee i,ll be getting him to service it when its due :)
