No ! I REALLY want to get to the bottom of my mystery oil leak.
Mechanic sais its gaskets, previous posts on here suggest to me, in my case that it isn't. I have convinced myself its something to do with the oil cooler and perhaps more than likely, the pipes.
The leak is like a VERY fine mist of oil all over the lowest part of the engine and appears to be coming from JUST up and above the oil filter. We ARE pretty darn sure its not the sensor or where the pipes enter the block but could be higher up, where the pipes go up to basically.
And,,,at last heres the question: once she is up on the ramps can I, flat on my back actually see/get a look up beyond the filter to investigate the oil cooler and pipes to see where the leak is coming from. Although she is a V6 i can just about see all round the rocker gaskets and can't for the life of me see ANY leaks..not least oil isn't burning that high up.
Mechanic is too busy to investigate at the moment plus I have no money so thought i'd take a look myself.
She wizzed through her MOT yesterday PLUS she'll be going on a little drive to Austria in July so I kinda want to know whats the cause before I hit the Autobahns. ?
