Battery Going Flat
« on: 20 April 2009, 15:23:46 »

I am having problems with my battery keep going flat. I believe the problem is with the alarm system. If I lock the doors with the key fob pressing once the battery will hold a charge. If I lock and press the key fob button twice then a day or two later the battery is flat or very nearly. I have checked the battery and it appears to be OK.

Also I have had the strange situation where the central locking will just lock itself!!!

Can anyone help please??!!

That's strange -  the second press should only trigger the dead-lock,  the alarm is activated with the first press.
Someone should be along soon with instructions on how to check the drain on the battery.

see Kevin Woods guide on checking battery/alternator. Also is your power sounder still connected? Maybe unplug it and see if that helps, drivers side under scuttle left of brake servo as you look at the engine. Hth

See maintenance guides section. :-)
