What is the difference between ........
« on: 06 May 2009, 17:31:10 »

Can someone send me a link to - or tell me - the main difference in specifications between:

CD
CDX
Elite
GLS
MV6

I keep look at cars on the net and I keep wondering does this have this or that toy?

Apologies to the experts on here but it is bloody confusing when trying to compare like with like and you are a complete non-techie :-?

I'll stick with only explaining facelift as that's what I drive and know about.
Bottom of range is GLS, 16'' alloy wheels, all facelifts have climate, halogen lights, no front fog lights although option and same with heated front seats. Early had manual rear windows, then changed to elec rear windows. Black plastic trim, then later changed to wood.
CD, same as GLS now with fogs, heated seats, trip computer and velour.
CDX, adds sunroof, still 16'' wheels but different design, xenon's with headlight washers, 4 disc autochanger and cruise control.
Then there's the SPORT model. Just like a MV6 but with a 2.2 petrol engine instead of the V6. Interestingly has headlight washers but not xenon, just normal halogen headlights.
MV6 same as sport but with v6 and xenon
ELITE, top of the range...only 3.2 has leather as standard. But we have anti chromatic rear view mirror, memory seats, rear spolier, 17'' wheels, heated front and rear seats. Bose audio, rear electric sun blind. But I believe not option of the last Omega's bult in 2003. Indirect night lghting and many other toys dependant on options ticked when vehcile was new.

Huge thanks for this Josh

Do you happen to know which ones (particularly) had Cruise Control as standard?

Yep, cruise contol was standard on the CDX and ELITE. Option on all others except GLS. Although as far as I'm aware cruise can be retro fitted. Not sure how as mine's a CDX and has crusie contol allready.

If were talking Facelift, I can run over my 2000 3.0 MV6 Estate manual.

No sunroof, 17'' wheels different design, xenon's with headlight washers, 4 disc autochanger, lowered and firmer ride, cruise control, electric windows all round, stupid silver trim, leather sport seats, front heated.

I believe the only extra option on mine is the leather?

As far as I was aware, the facelift MV6's have the CCR 2006 as standard (4 disc autochanger). But I'm only working from info from 2003, so maybe early facelift MV6's were different then?

Well my 2001 elite has full leather front & rear heated  both fronts memory sat-nav cruise glass sun roof xenons headlight washers and 17" wheels  rear leccy blinda lso rear park distance & bose stereo
was told when i bought it that was standard kit and the main option was colour sat-nav and you could have a downgrade as in metal sunroof or cloth upholstery as some prefer it.
