electric alarm fault
« on: 07 May 2009, 14:41:25 »

2.6V6 CDX Sometimes when you turn the ignition on a siren sounds - not full alarm.  Sounds for 30 seconds then ok. Have made three trips to diffferent main dealers.  Result 'unknown fault' only suggested remedy replacement of whole unit.  Anyone know good garage/expert in south/central hampshire who may help.

Yes mate the power sounder nicad's are just about to die. Sometimes you also get 4 low bleeps from the dashboard when you pull up and turn off the engine.. Think they cost about £50 plus vat at the stealers, but i didnt bother because you still have your main car alarm horn. (the sounder is there if somebody trys to disconnect the car battery (thats all) if you can live without the siren sound then just unplug it.
