hello there. after spending 300 quid this wk on my car i have now discovered another problem. i have just had a new stereo fitted and sometimes when i turn the ignition off there is a noise and then when i turn the key the car wont fire up any ideas

Are any of the symptoms truly related? I guess the simple answer is to remove the headunit and see if the problems go away though somehow I doubt it!

Can you describe the noise?

Does the immobiliser lamp flash when the you try to start the car?

SammyLou, ideally you need to be more specific as VXL has already said. Describe the noise a little better, let us know where you are as one of us might live 3 doors down and be able to lend an ear

when i turn off the ignition it sometimes makes like a whining sound that fades away, it sounds like when you open the door and that sound appears when the ignition is on, to let ya know the door is open it sounds like that, but doesnt always do it. im from west somerset, car does not fire sometimes and have to get jump start, but once on its fine and doesnt cut out. no lights come on or nothing like that. :-/

cfould be a number of things

Shagged battery,sticking starter motor, as for the noise have you fitted an aftermarket stereo to a BOSE equipped car?

if you have then the noises are because the aftermarket stereo is not designed to work with BOSE

BOSE uses 2ohms with a 280w boot amp all the speakers are 2ohm and must be replaced if changing to aftermarket

Aftermarket stereos use 4ohm and will blow up eventually if forced to work with BOSE
