When you say the crank at 4 o'clock, I assume you mean TDC is at 4 o'clock :-/ :y

I was still dismantling the inlet at 4 oclock, finished about 6 tonight after a 7:30 start this morning.

IF Bicknells can get an HG by dinner time change, else risk reuse I have decided.

So far

Hard bits

DIsmantling due to loctite and previous bodging

refitting heads

that coolant pipe down side of engine

Actually the cam belt was not difficult

However 3 days solid has taken it out of me a lot now and I am shattered

I wouldn't have thought that a few miles with the gasket the wrong way up would damage it ?? It is designed to take a fair bit more stress than that I would have thought ??

It's not the head gasket that the worry, it's the lack of oil due to the gasket being the wrong way round. :-?  If you look at the eBay picture, the oil hole is at the side of the gasket/head & if the gasket is 4r$e about face it'll block it which ever upside down it is.  ;)
