Right, almost got the rad disconnected. There's one more hose and a banjo union standing in my way.

When I tried to undo the banjo, it pissed oil all down my arm. What's that all about? I need to d/c it to remove the radiator but I don't want to lose, say, the auto fluid all down the road... anybody able to shed some light please?

It's located on the rear offside corner of the rad, almost half way up:

Um... er... cos that PDF guide said I should.

I can't see how else I'd get at the viscous fan, it's right up against the rad... I couldn't get a finger down there let alone any tools or be able to see what I was doing.

Thanks for info mate.

32mm spanner on it and jammed with a long screwdriver and it pops undone some are easier than others to undo and its a lefthand thread, never had a problem?? belt off egr loosened if need to 2 bolts and pump is off takes around 45 mins first time then about 20 to 30  the second time you do it??

Do you go in from the top or the bottom? Pardon the expression.

The guide linkd on the previous page reckons the fan and pump are on a common shaft, so surely you'd need some clearance to withdraw the assembly? Pardon me being thick, but I can't envision how this would work without more space (currently occupied by the radiator).

Sorry, I don't mean to be such a noob, I'll have another look at it tomorrow, going dark now :)

OK, scratch my last, got the belt and viscous fan off now.

New problem - getting the WP pulley off. Four bolts are out, but it ain't budging. I'm assuming a crowbar is not advisable...
