Don't know about recommended but just got a full engine set from shirley9293

One head is on fine and torqued down

The ones from 'shirley' are shite.

I have had them a few times and the quality is poor and a few snapped on me (I have photos of the poor quality!).

I now use 'Trechii' as they are good quality and well priced.

In the 'shirley' head kits be aware that the following parts are pretty useless:

Cam cover seals and O rings
Cam seals (1 in 4 will leak, re-use the old ones)
Dowty washers (just a poor fit)
Exhaust manifold gaskets (nasty composite items)
Inlet seals (poor fit and poorly made, not really requried anyway)

In fact, the only decent items are the Elring head gaskets and the stem seals!

I say let sleeping dogs lie. More likely to come a cropper when being torqued-up or removed. If they've survived being torqued up my personal view would be to leave them. Worst that can happen is that one fails, head gasket goes and it's no worse than head-off anyway at that point.

There is alot to be said for if it ain't broken don't fix it.
Especially as it's been of the road for a month and I JUST WANT TO DRIVE IT AGAIN !!!

Have looked at the bolts and they good ok, no wavy threads.

Trechii is on holiday :( and I don't think 135 will last that long and £3.50 each is a bit much
