« on: 22 June 2009, 16:45:28 »

Hi, can someone please take 5 mins of there time to take a picture of the seat and the rail in as far forward posistion as it goes, i am in the process of buyng an estate with elec mem seats and the wife cant reach the pedals as comfy as she should be able to, people have told me they are prone it  to getting things stuck in the runners, i am going over to have a look but a photo would really help me to see if its possible

Thanks

Here are some.

First with seat fully back...

and with seat fully forward...

as you can see, with the seat fully forward there is no room at all for the knees...

cant edit you pic but basiclly the bracket that runs over the teeth stops about an inch short of the bottom fixing with about four teeth showing on the runner.

....if that makes sense

thanks again

Seat should go way forward with the top runner overlapping the bottom by about 4 inches. Total movement forward to back is about a foot.

Doesn't take much to stop the movement though - could be a combination of poor lubrication plus a small piece of debris either on the drive worm or on the track.

Does the seat move freely and smoothly up to the point it stops? If it move slowly and heavily then it may just be a lub problem give it a blast of spray oil or grease.

Have a good look down the inside edge, where the seatbelt arm attaches to the seat rail, you might need a torch and a mirror.

Twice now I have had coins drop down there, and there is a slight gap so the coin can drop edgewise through and get stuck, it then fouls the seat and causes it to stop.

On one occasion I was able to get the coin out using one of those springy 3-prong pick-up things ... on the other I had to remove the seat to get to it.   :(
