Eternal Help
« on: 22 June 2009, 18:32:15 »

Guys,

Seen sense and am going to get an Eternal system (for this year at least!).

Thing is, the ebay exhaust doesnt make any reference to Eternal but it looks exactly the same as them and seems to work out slightly more expensive!

The parts I intend to order from Eternalcar are:

Centre#1: http://store.eternalcar.com/exhaust-central-silencer-vauxhall-p-120946.html?osCsid=9nimhn2lb9qslgt18dkklj8st3

Center #2: http://store.eternalcar.com/exhaust-central-silencer-vauxhall-p-120947.html?osCsid=9nimhn2lb9qslgt18dkklj8st3

Rear: http://store.eternalcar.com/exhaust-rear-silencer-vauxhall-p-120952.html?osCsid=9nimhn2lb9qslgt18dkklj8st3

...or I may try to get a nearly new rear from Ebay as aparently the tailpipes arn't quite long enough for the facelift bumpers and really need finishers!?

Could somebody please confirm that I have selected the correct parts to get a twin tailpipe system on a 2.6 saloon as they only do them for the 2.5 / 3.0 but up to 02/2001!?

Hi there,
I recently bought a twin tailpipe backbox from there for the 3.0. My Omega is a 2.2 saloon, the tailpipes are approx 3 or 4 cm's shorter than the proper length. But it still fits and works fine. You could put trims on the end but I've struggled to find one's that look genuine and not crappy boy racer stuff. If you like, I'll take a pic of the backbox so you can see what it looks like?

Would be good - yeah, cheers!

The guy at the place where I am going to get it fitted suggested the tail pipe trim option too!

I have just looked at Halfords and they are £25 each!! Forget that! May as well get an MV6 backbox for that sort of money!

I found Lidl had some pretty original-looking trims. 6 quid each. :y

i260,
Trying to find my camera, as soon as I do I'll post up a picture.
Kevin,
Do you have the trims fitted from lidl on your 3.2? I'm intrigued as £6 is a good price. Do you happen to have a picture of it fitted? The exhaust tailpipes on mine at the moment are just that bit too short I think.

i260,
Pictures as promised.
1st picture is the original exhaust.
2nd picture is it fitted with a backbox bought brand new from Vauxhall for a 3.2.
3rd and 4th is how it is currently with an eternal backbox fitted.
I didn't like the look of the vauxhall backbox for the 3.2, not like the original one's fitted. Looks boy racer as it's not slash cut...so that's why I bought an eternal one. Vauxhall backbox is just sitting in my garage.

As you can see, the tailpipes aren't quite long enough, about 3 cm's too short.

mm, I don't know! I think that they look ok! Not too short really - I think the trim option would look worse from most angles.

Back to the original Q, are the ones on ebay Eternal? Can't work out why Eternal's website is cheaper??

The link you've provided from ebay isn't the eternal one.
This is the correct ebay link for the backbox you want from eternal car...

Cheers Josh,

Searched and searched but how did I miss that??

And these would be the two centres?

Near side (UK Passenger side)

Off Side (UK Driver side)

I guess all ways round it wold be better to buy direct from the EternalCar website?

I had my eye on an MV6 twinpipe backbox to go on it but it is the later one with the inward-roll - not so nice, will go for the twin back-slash methinks!!

Those mid sections are for a diesel, but you're on the right lines. There's a table that tells you what engines it will be for. And yeah, might be better to buy direct from eternal car website than ebay.
