Do you Know when the last service was?

when not then do a service, ie. air, fuel, oil filters And oil. check breaks, change if needed.

people here mainly get service parts from the dealer, providing you have some sort of tradecard access (can be obtained for £20 per year by joining autobahstomers etc)

there oil is then very good, and cheap (you buy 4x5litres for £30)
other parts also cheap enough there, and often much better quality than pattern, eg airfilters are twice the thickness of halfords ones, but mann ones are about the same

General service items I tend to use genuine GM parts, as on TC, normally cheaper than pattern, and superior quality.  Some things I use pattern as some GM parts are expensive
