Exhaust manifold Stud replacement
« on: 25 June 2009, 23:54:50 »

I'm suffering from a snapped exhaust manifold stud on the driverside cylinder bank.

Before I tackle this job, I'd like to ask whether its a pain in the fact that there's a lot to get out to gain access, or is it just a complete pig full stop ?!?

I don't know if the stud has sheared flush / subhlush or proud and wonder if there's any little tricks (I don't have a ramp or a welding plant before anyone goes there!  ;))

Are there any common PITA's and last of all, how much for a new gasket from VX?  I take it i'm going to need new stud nuts and a manifold to exhaust gasket also?
