Daylight Sensor?
« on: 10 August 2009, 12:27:28 »

I just noticed the dome from daylight sensor (the sensor in the middle of the dash and the bottom of the windscreen) is missing will it affect the air con? can I get a new/second hand one?

Definately for the climate  ;), the remote locking sensor on earlier car was a dome up by the sunroof switch!  :y

I found out it's called a sun sensor.

just pulled it off to get a part number and the damn wire has dropped back into the dash, gotta go get some right-angled pliers to pull it back out now :(

it's just the dome that's missing the sensor is still there, well it will be when i get the wire back...  ::)

Yes, its the solar sensor, and is used by climate panel. Yes the dome will make a difference I would have thought.

Note that preface and facelift ones are different (facelift ones - less reliable - have 2 sensors in it, as the more intelligent climate adjusts for which side the sun is shining)
