Dead Display
« on: 19 August 2009, 10:45:33 »

I have a 1997 2.5L Diesel Omega Estate that has a triple info display (as shown at the top of this page http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1153215783). The display is dead (does not display anything).

Does anyone know the likely cause (other than the unit being dead)? I have checked the fuses.

If it is dead, any clues on how to replace it (i.e. how to get at it) and how long it would take?

Thanks in advance

Has it ever worked, could be bulbs gone or loose plug at the back of it, either way take the unit out to check (10 min job, easier than you think).  :y

Chris.

Chris,

Thanks for the reply and the info. The display hasn't worked since I have had the car, but the prevous owner said it did in the past (!). The real problem I am trying to fix is the radio as packed up. The radio has power to it, but I think it needs a code following battery removal - but I can't see/tell what to do without the display.

Anyhow, I will try removing the dash/display and seeing if it is a bulb or connector issue to start.

Thanks again,

Ian
