Exhaust System...
« on: 03 September 2009, 19:47:29 »

Hi Folks,

I'm going to need to get my exhaust changed - full system from cat back...

I can't seem to get prices for a 3.2 (facelift) anywhere.  And given the reports of inferior quality of the GM stuff now, think I'll pass on that.

Will a 3.0 pre-facelift exhaust fit my 3.2 facelift??

Cheers  :y

Have you had a look at this one?

I do seem to remember that someone said the 3,0 was the same as the 3,2 but dont hold me on that.

Aye, I thought I'd heard somebody on here say that the 3.2 facelift saloon exhaust is the same as the 3.0 pre-facelift too.  But wanted to know if it was definate before I bite the bullet.  Cheers for the feedback GD  :y

I was going to get a stainless fitted - had a quote from a local-ish place for a full custom stainless system for 300squids before we went away, but hang fire cos it was just before we went away for 6weeks - could've done with not forking out that amount just before going away, so waited till we got back.  Since then, the price has suddenly escallated to 450!  >:(

Last time I fitted an exhaust system myself, it was much more aggro than it was worth - there's only so many skinned knuckles and sheared bolts before you question whether it's just best to take it to a specialist to sort...

So if it is the same as a 3.0, I'll tell them it's a 3.0 as oppose to a 3.2.  Does that sound like a plan??  :-/

The eternal 3.0 exhaust will fit a 3.2. The tail pipes are a little short but a couple of chrome trims from Lidl (don't laugh!) sorted that.

It's not as quiet as the OEM system but for the price i'm prepared to put up with that.
