I get 28-30 round town and up to 40 on a run out of my 2.5 manual. Mods include Sport cats, 4 bar regulator, Powerflow Exhaust, Pipercross panel filter with airbox drilled and most importantly, EGR blanked off!! This gave me an increase of 2 miles per gallon as the engine doesn't draw red hot air into the engine anymore.

Hi there,

Getting 35-38 on a dual carriageway, mid 20's around town - I have a 15 mile commute, 8 miles on dual carriageway, the rest A and B roads, averages 28 for the trip. Got a 2.6 automatic, no modifications.
As a comparison, I had a 2-litre 5-cylinder Fiat Marea 155 before this, and the Omega is only working out about £2 or 3 more per week for the same mileage.

My 2.5td auto does mid 20's local and mid 30's on a run, not good for a tractor but I can live with it.  :y

Those are more or less the same figures I used to get from our old 2.5 CDX Auto, with the exception of 18mpg when playing....our's was more like 10-12mpg (probably because I preferred to shift manually).

My 2.0L 16v estate will run for an average of eighteen miles before she goes back to the bar and orders another gallon.
I know this is not quite right but I also do carry a fair bit of weight around in her.

Everyday stuff around 26-28mph  :( :(  .... i  have seen 34mph on a long run but that quickly dropped when off the motorway  :-/ :-/ .... the way fuel is going i may need to look for something a bit less thirsty, and of course if they get there way the road tax will get hammered too  :'( :'(  .... dont think i really need a big car anymore  :-/
