V6 not starting **update with EML light**
« on: 25 September 2009, 21:15:33 »

Having a little problem with my MV6. I've just changed the cambelt and also cam cover gaskets (all done as per the OOF dvd and guide)... but on completion the car wont start  :-?

Its turning over the fine, timing was ok, but it just keeps turning and turning (with a few hiccups) like its not getting the fuel - have i missed something in regards to pressurising the fuel rail again or anything? its also new spark plugs that are in it too

Probably going to pull it all apart again tomorrow and double check timing etc  ::)

I'd read em for the peace of mind.

It'd keep me awake wondering what it was.

I'm sure it will be as simple as one missed connector somewhere.

fingers crossed for you.

I know looking with fresh morning eyes often helps though....I can stare at something all day when im tired and miss the bleeding obvious, that you spot 1st time when your fresh  :y

Just did paperclip test and came up with fault codes:

59   Intake Manifold Valve 1 Voltage Low
133   Intake Manifold Valve 2 Voltage Low

X30XE

did a quick search for same codes and theres a few posts with people saying the wiring at the back of the inlet manifold wasnt plugged in right.. guessing that'll be the first thing to check?

Well, found the reason for it not starting!

Stripped it all back down and cam 1 was on the wrong timing mark?!  :o dont remember doing that... so ive put them all bang on the timing marks and she started up first time.

Running fine, however my EML is flashing whilst its running and still throwing up the same intake voltage codes at me but all the plugs for intake are in fine?... any thoughts on it?

cheers  :y
