Think Dunlops were original spec Conti-Sport i think?  :-/

Just had Falkins fitted on mine front and rear, oddly the rears just fitted are a slightly different type to the fronts, but they have tone of tread!

Had Goodyear Eagle Ventures on before all around, got 40k from them. If you could still get them i would have bought them again!

The volume manufacturers very rarely specify a make of tyre for factory fitment - although there are exceptions. With a volume manufacturer like Vx fitting what they can get the best deal on at the time. I once spent a day in the wheels and tyres dept of the Vx factory in Luton and could see tyres from different manufacturers all destined for Cavaliers at the time. The only thing that they would guarantee was that any particular car would have the same make/size etc on all 4 wheels as it left the factory.

They will be premium quality tyres though without a doubt.

Which Falkens you fitted Tunnie? I just was looking at some Falkens to fit the ones on the car ... I was given a nice deal on the tyres including the camber and tracking stuff. How good are the Falkens on the mig? Had them on Astras and Mazda previously and worked a treat.

Pricing up myself today....

replacing Conti Sport Contact 3's

looking at either :

SC3's at £126 each
Toyo TR-1's at £97 each
also been recommended Vredsteins at £104 each.

The SC3's have been good, but not as good as the old SC2's.
not sure if its better the devil you know....or to have a try at the Toyo's which sound good at a good price.

These are all 235 45 17's, and tend to be driven quite hard, like good road holding and grip.

Had Michelin Primacy 225/55x16 fitted to the 2.5 V6 CD I had as a company car new in 2000. They lasted for ages, and replaced them with the same :)
