A Few Problems
« on: 05 October 2009, 13:27:43 »

Having a few problems with the mig over the past day or 2.

1. The handbrake light keeps dimly flashing/staying on when im driving but the handbrake handle is fully down. Im going to check the switch but asking incase its a common thing that i dont know about  :y

2. My heaters dont seem very warm. They used to burn my eyeballs out when it was set to HI, now its just luke warm air thats comming through  :-/ the coolant was recently changed, engine temp sits fine at 95ish... any thoughts on what could be wrong?

thanks in advance!

Heaters,

you could try a servo rest - auto and off for 5 seconds.
did you get all the air out the system when you did a coolant change?
you could flush, and reverse flush the heater matrix...
pull the pipes off where they go into bulkhead, push on hose and run for 5 mins, both connectors.  I put another bit of hose on the other to drain under the car.

thanks for the suggestions guys   :y

Will try the servo reset first before redoing the coolant.

Brake fluid was low, think it might be leaking some - advisory on MOT was corroded rear brake lines, so ill have to get under it and check just how bad they are then probably replace them. I knew the light flickering would be something like that lol

Cheers again  :y

As Jimbob says ^^^^^ did you make sure there are no airlocks in the system :question
Engine idling, heater controls set to max, blowers on max, expansion cap off and "burp" the top hose :y
