2.2 petrol timing belt tension

Hi,
gonna change my timing belt, rollers, water pump etc tomorrow but in the absence of a Haynes book (still waiting from ebay  :-/) I need some info please.

I assume that when the new belt is installed, the engine is turned by hand a couple of revolutions with the tensioner unlocked (spring pressure) and then it is locked down?

Is there anything that may be peculiar to this engine for this job, other than the torx sockets & keys and the cam lock wedge which I have?

Nothing particularly different about the 4 cylinder ones compared to any other car, unlike the v6 engines.

Ensure its a cambelt kit (with tensioners) rather than just belt alone.

make sure the sprokets at top up with piston 1 at frunt, when putting the new belt on make sure there is slack on left side not right, ajust tension to new, when all tight and done turn engine by hand and make sure that it still lines up on number 1, if all ok then done, if not reline up again and repeat new belt relining timing marks can take two or three go's some times. but only turn by hand dont start engine until all setting line up. :y

Cheers guys. I got the Contitech timing belt kit and the original manufacturer's water pump from Eurocarparts so should be good stuff.

Just hope for decent weather tomorrow as I'm doing this outdoors   :)

Ok, give you guys a laugh!  ;D I did the timing belt today but ran out of time to finish everything, the thing is, the auxilliary drive belt seems about a mile too long now but it deffo came off. I cant remember how it went in the first place. Does anyone have a photo or diagram to post to help me out here?  ::) 2002 2.2 CD auto is the beast.
