I am a bit suspect with brittle plastic drain valves, I usually Chicken out & remove bottom hose.   :-/

left arrow = thermostat below here
right arrow = new electric thermoswitch for electric fan

lol yes. the horrid plastic thing split so i replaced it with something with a bit more flow! Oh and ditched the EGR valve.

i think its plastic to help prevent engine from heating intake air too much ;)

Given the location, I don't think it will get hot, anyway, it would be a shame to cover it up.
I would Brasso it! It would look good in Brass actually - or Copper!

Wonder if trying to do something with the natural airflow could cool it - in effect a larger intercooler  :-/
