i have used the software, it is made by a company called I-go and is excellent.

I binned my tom tom in favour of this, easy to use, it doesnt have traffic camera locations preloaded but i believe this can be added.
menu structure is user intuitive, directions are clear and the mapping is excellent, high quality and lots of surrounding detail, ideal if you are looking for something in the locality.
Voices are typically american, and you can have measurement in miles or kilometers.
the auto night colour feature is a great idea.

Critisisms: i use it on my phone and i find it very memory hungry, but that is also a phone issue rather than a program issue.
some of the maps are not entirely up to daye, but then neither is tom tom

for the money you wont go wrong
limited colour schemes

why??

this does everything the Garmin does and a bit more.....and its cheaper.....

IMHO a lot of Sat nav prices are driven by brand name.

I have used NavMan and various other brands, some are far to compliated to use, you just want something for satnav, postcode bam done.

You need to watch out, not all Sat Nav systems come with full UK postcode reconigtion, some come with just 3 letter.

You can get the "Garmin NUVI 200W" for £150.... Garmin is a brand, but they were the first to really market hand help GPS devices.  and it shows in their GUI

My sat nav is an RAC badged unit (RAC200 ) It was actuallty a freebie through RS components  :y And this is a very good little unit . It has partial or full postcode search also has fixed speed cameras installed  I am fairly impressed with it even better for being free  ;D
