Alternator mounting bracket
« on: 17 November 2009, 23:27:42 »

The one on my wifes Omega has cracked on the rubber .

So I went into the local Vauxhall dealers to get a new one but we couldn't locate it on his computer diagrams of the Alternator parts.

Does anyone know where to look on the parts diagrams or even what part number it might be?

Or better still, does anyone have one sitting around their workshop surplus to their needs?

Are you refering to the small bracket that the secondary air injection mounts onto?

Yep, that is the one,  it is a little L-shaped bracket with a rubber bush.

The rubber bush is a seperate item to the bracket.....and there are a large number of cars out there where this is no longer in one piece and causes no ill affects.

 Mark,

I had the red charging light come on so I bought a secondhand Alternator, I got all set up to put it on and noticed the the rubber bit had split on that bracket and I just figured it had affected the the traction on the Alternator somehow, but thinking about it that bracket doesn't affect the alternator one bit, it is just a support for the pipe it is joined to.

Cheers mate.

Correct, I often remove the bracket and leave it off when changing the alternators
