2.2 camcover gasket sealant
« on: 05 December 2009, 14:48:26 »

Afternoon All.
I'm going to do the camshaft sensor and camcover gasket on my 2.2 in the next couple of days and I've read the excellent guides on here, so thanks due to tunnie, Marks DTM calib, and theboy :y :y :y
The only bit I'm not clear on is exactly where I should be putting the black sealant. (! :o)
Also thanks due to all that recommended the ABS card, I've got my membership back + on the first transaction   :) :y
Cheers for that.

The two half-moon cutouts at the rear and the front outside edge corners

as per my guide and picture:

I put mine over the arch, but you only really need it in the corners. Once you fit the cam cover, feel with your finger behind the cover close to the bulkhead that teh arch shape has correctly slotted into the cover and not been pushed out.

Take your time, i took about 3 hours, i was in no rush.
