Car won't start, code 100
« on: 28 November 2009, 10:08:26 »

Went to start my car this morning, it fired up for just one or two revs, then died and wouldn't start again. It spins and quickens as if it'll catch, but doesn't quite fire up. I pedal tested it and on top of my normal old stored codes, a P0100 came up, a MAF code. Would this prevent my car starting? The MAF on it is a cheapo but only a couple of months old..

Pull the MAF sensor plug and see if it starts then :y  If so you need a new MAF sensor

Update on this, my car hasn't started for about 3 weeks now, tried a new crank sensor but it's exactly the same, except there's no sign of the engine catching at all now. Also disconnected the MAF, exactly the same  :(
Anyone got any ideas? Felt sure it was going to be the crank sensor  >:(
