boot spoiler / lip spoiler?
« on: 05 January 2010, 12:03:44 »

does anyone know of a small lip spoiler that would fit to the top rear face of the facelift bootlid?

It needs to fit there as I reversed slowly into a wheelie bin and put a shallow dent in the bootlid. Aaaaaaargh. How stupid do I feel?

Doubt very much if you`ll get one of them. Is it a bad dent?

not really too bad. I've tapped it ut a bit from the inside but the steel is strong there. I'm sure a bodyshop could do it better. I'm annoyed with myself for doing it on an otherwise blemish free body. It was the top edge of the wheely bin so the dent is shallow but longish. I was looking for an easyish option to hide my poor driving and observational skills.

I've seen what I'm after somewhere but can't remember where.

Shame. Options........live with it :'( send to bodyshop, replace it and get it sprayed (unless you can find one in the right colour)

I presume you are looking for one like the spolier on the rear of the car Joshwyatt is selling.

If so, they are very hard to find for facelifts.

Oh I know the options, I'm just so ticked with myself for doing it. Living with it is probably the most sensible option but it grits me every time I see it. It' less obvious now that I have tapped it out a bit, so my revelation last night was to look for a spoiler that fitted to the rear. I knew it wouldn't be an easy option. I spose I could bodyshop it but that would be a shame too as all the paint is nice and original, I know it's an odd thing to say. Oh well. Worth an ask I suppose. This bootlid thing is less irritating than the occasionally misting up inside for no apparent reason.

that's the one, or similar. It would be nice if it fitted lower down though but that's exactly the sort of thing. I wonder if a matt black panel underneath would look good :-)
